Slaughter Lane Corridor
Overview
The Slaughter Lane Corridor Project is advancing safety and mobility improvements along Slaughter Lane from RM 1826 to Old Lockhart Road. Construction is currently underway between MoPac Expressway (Loop 1) and Brodie Lane. This phase includes widening the roadway from four to six lanes, adding shared-use paths, upgrading traffic signals and pedestrian crossings and improving drainage. The corridor improvements are funded by the 2016 Mobility Bond, with a federal CAMPO grant supporting the MoPac-to-Brodie phase. Construction began in summer 2025 and is anticipated to be complete in fall 2027.

October 9, 2026 Status Update
The lane reduction on Slaughter Lane at MoPac Expressway is anticipated to be in place through November 2026. Additional lane closures will begin on southbound Brodie Lane approaching Slaughter Lane the week of October 12, 2026. New traffic signals along Slaughter Lane will also activate in October 2026. Drivers are encouraged to plan extra time to travel through the area.
