All APO Expo presentations will be streamed live on ATXN, so you can participate from wherever you are. Virtual attendees can also submit questions throughout the event, with questions answered during our final Remote Q&A session.

And if you can’t make it live, you can still take part. Every presentation, including the final Q&A, will be recorded and added to APO’s digital resource depository for future viewing.

Community members are invited to join us for the 2026 Austin Police Oversight (APO) Expo on Saturday, September 26 at City Hall! This event is designed to clarify the oversight process, provide space for dialogue, and offer ways for you to get involved. 

Community members will have the opportunity to connect directly with APO staff and leadership, ask questions, and learn more about our work to promote transparency, accountability, and community trust in local law enforcement.

The APO Expo is an opportunity to take an in-depth and interactive look at APO’s landmark projects and routine operations. Community members will be able to speak directly to the staff members involved in every aspect of the oversight process.  

The APO Expo is for anyone with an interest in oversight, community safety, or transparency! Whether you’re new to oversight or already familiar with APO’s work, the Expo has something for you! 

The APO Expo is a free event! Entry, refreshments, and giveaways will be available for all attendees free of charge. 

Parking will be available at the City Hall parking garage (163 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701). A limited number of parking validations for the City Hall garage will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis. 

Extra parking can be found at the Central Library (710 W Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78701), and street parking is available.

Austin Police Oversight (formerly the Office of Police Oversight) accepts community feedback about interactions with the Austin Police Department. Austin Police Oversight is separate and independent from the Austin Police Department. 

We will not be able to take complaints during the Expo due to a lack of reliable access to a private, secure space. There are several ways you can submit a complaint: mail, online, telephone, or in person at our office. 

  • Online: Complaints can be filed online here. Required information includes a description of the interaction, date and time, location, and your contact information. Optional information includes officer name(s) and witness(es). 

  • Telephone: Call Austin Police Oversight at (512) 972-2676. We'd be happy to speak with you. If you need an interpreter, just tell us the language you prefer. Complaint intake hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

  • In-person: You can complete the form in person at Austin Police Oversight at 1520 Rutherford Lane, Austin TX 78754. We are in Building 1, on the 2nd floor, Suite 211. Visitor parking is in front of the main entrance. If you need an interpreter, just tell us the language you prefer. Complaint intake hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
