This project page will be open for comments from May 30, 2023 to June 16, 2023. During this time, you may provide your thoughts in the box on this page and click "comment." After June 16, 2023 you will still be able to view the page and access the information/documents. We appreciate your thoughts and participation.

These proposals will:

  • Not impact the vast majority of permits.
    • Most building permit customers activate permits and begin work quickly after building plan review approval.
  • Only impact customers who do not begin work on permit activation following building plan approval.
    • An application the countdown to an application expiration date would begin. 
    • The proposed expiration date for applications is 181 days after building plan review approval if the building permit has not been activated.
  • Increase efficiency of services provided by DSD in the Service Center.

Notice of Proposed Rule

The Land Development Rules Manager submits required documents to City Clerk for official posting. Formal public comment process begins. Contact information for submitting comments to the appropriate department contact will be announced. If you missed the opportunity to engage during the "Develop Rules" stage this stage is your next opportunity to provide input. This Notice of Proposed Rule will post on July 6, 2023.

Notice of Rule Adoption

The formal notice is posted with the City Clerk, including the final language and the effective date. This notice identifies if any changes were made to the text of the rule from what was proposed and posted previously in the process.

Public Appeal Period

A 30-day period for final appeal begins to receive final appeals before the rule is published.

Publishing

The final rule language is sent for publishing. This langauge includes rule number, specific criteria manual being updated, date of adoption, and effective date to MuniCode. This will be published on the website and included in the next quarterly update of the hard copy criteria manuals.
