Givens Pool is classified as a Community Pool based on the 2018 Council approved Aquatic Master Plan. This scope of work includes the demolition of the existing pools and bathhouses. The Aquatic Master Plan classification of a Community Pool provides for the following aquatic characteristics and amenities: lap lane pool, zero-entry activity pool (tot pool), water slide, spray ground feature, diving board with well, gender-neutral bathhouse, family restrooms, training/party room, deck space, and aquatic office space. The project will also participate in the City of Austin Arts in Public Places (AIPP) program, which will commission a permanent art installation at the pool facility. As documented in the aquatic master plan, a robust community engagement process will be conducted to gather feedback on the amenities and to assist in identifying the character of the Givens aquatic facility. The community engagement process will inform the design team of stakeholder input related to the development and design features of the new pool.
Together, we are designing the future Givens Pool. Please take some time to share your preferences for the future pool and provide your responses to the questions below.
The new Givens Pool is currently being designed with your input! Based on previous community input, the Givens Pool Project Team has developed 3 concepts to help us imagine what the future Givens Pool could be. Please take a moment to look through the 3 different design concepts. These concepts are not final designs. They should be used as guides and possible suggestions. For more information, you can review the presentation (PDF) or recording from the second Virtual Community Meeting that took place on Monday, April 26, 2021. You can also view the concepts here (PDF) to guide your comments.
These responses along with responses from Community Meeting #2 will be shared with the Project Team to develop one proposed Community Pool Concept.
