Overview of the Position

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department has been the trusted steward of the City of Austin’s public lands since 1928.

The Parks and Recreation Department protects and maintains parkland and urban forests, preserve trails, and programs to include a variety of sports, recreational, educational enrichment, arts, cultural opportunities, nature and aquatic activities.

The PARD mission is to inspire Austin to learn, play, protect and connect by creating diverse programs and experiences in sustainable natural spaces and public places.
