Curbside Management
Thank you for participating in the survey to share your experience with using curb space in Austin. The City is developing a comprehensive Curbside Management Plan to address the diverse and often conflicting demands on curb space, prioritize uses to reduce conflicts, meet primary needs, and plan for future changes. Your input will help shape the plan for improving curb space usage.
What is Curb Space?
The curb is more than just the edge of the street — it’s one of the busiest, most flexible parts of a city. It’s where people park, load and unload goods, hop on and off buses, ride bikes, use shared scooters, and access buildings. The curb connects how we move, deliver, and experience the city every day.
What is Curb Management?
Curb management is how the City makes sure this shared space works well for everyone. It’s about organizing and balancing all the different uses — parking, deliveries, bus stops, bike lanes, and more — so the curb is safe, fair, and efficient. The City manages the curb through things like signs, loading zones, pricing, and enforcement to keep people and goods moving smoothly.
